One of the things I love most about being a blogger, is having the opportunity to try new brands and new products, and then being able to share what I learned about and tried with you. One such unique product and brand I was recently introduced to was the Lustrous Contour Duo, $35, from Osmosis + Colour, a division of Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare.
Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare was started by Dr. Ben Johnson, who wanted to change the skincare conversation from excessive exfoliation to skin remodeling by creating products that were ideal for all skin types and conditions. All of the products developed by Osmosis are clinically proven, natural solutions, which are also made in the USA.
Before I get into my review of the actual products including in Lustrous Contour Duo, let’s talk about the packaging of the duo. I absolutely adore multifunctional products, or palettes, and this Lustrous Duo is definitely one of those, especially since if comes with a highlighter and bronzer in once sleek case. The compact is about the size of my palm, and features a hard plastic casing covered in a pretty bronze/rose gold. Inside you’ll find a nice sized mirror, which is great for travel, or on-the-go application.
As I mentioned above, the Osmosis + Colour Lustrous Contour Duo comes with a bronzer and a highlighter. The bronzer is perfection. It applies easily, has great color payoff, and is very blendable. With my pale skin finding the right shade of bronzer can be a bit of a challenge, but this matte shade matched my skin tone so well. I really felt like I could contour my face, and add some warmth to my complexion, without looking overly done. This is precisely how I want my bronzer to work.
Unfortunately, I didn’t love the highlight as much. While I was a fan of the very lovely pearl essence, shimmering color, I wasn’t a huge fan of the formula. I didn’t really like the way the highlighter blended into my skin. I felt like it accentuated my pores, no matter where I applied it, instead of adding that subtle glow I seek from a highlighter. I’m not quite sure why it didn’t work as well; perhaps because I have dry skin. I did notice some dissipation of the appearance of my pores when I added a setting or facial spray. I do think it would blend better on combo or oily skin.
Overall: I’m glad I had the opportunity to test out a product from Osmosis + Colour, and I do think the Lustrous Contour Duo is well worth the $35 price point. If you’re looking for a multipurpose palette that is great for travel, on-the-go, or everyday use, you will love this duo. While the bronzer is my favorite of the two products, I think both the bronzer and the highlight were designed to work extremely well together, and will look great on a variety of skintones.
